Health
Body mass index is a screening measure, not a diagnosis — it doesn't account for muscle mass, frame, or body composition.
Normal weight — WHO range 18.5–24.9.
About this tool
BMI divides weight by the square of height to give a quick screening number used across public health. It's a useful starting point, but it can't distinguish muscle from fat, so athletes and very muscular people often score higher than their actual body fat would suggest.
WHO categories
Under 18.5 — Underweight
18.5–24.9 — Normal
25–29.9 — Overweight
